The redevelopment of the former Carillion headquarters has reached the halfway mark. The site, which is being converted into an £11m co-living development, now has more than 100 studios completed.
The Studios24, at Birch Street, Wolverhampton, will eventually have 201 en-suite rooms arranged as apartments, with shared facilities including kitchens, working and relaxation areas, a café and bar, gym, laundry and high-speed internet.
Around 40 new jobs have been created by the development.
The Studios24 director Barry Glantz said: “It’s been a journey to reach this point as no-one else has developed co-living accommodation in the Midlands before, so it’s really great to see the place buzzing with activity and residents enjoying their studios and the rest of the facilities.
“It’s been amazing to watch our dream of bringing co-living to Wolverhampton become an exciting reality. Now, we are at the halfway stage after completing phase two and we are moving on to phase three.
“This will enable us to offer more rooms to people looking for great value high-quality accommodation. It’s fantastic to see local people and businesses really embrace the co-living concept – it offers a great lifestyle at a very affordable price.”
Barry is exploring co-living development opportunities in Midlands cities such as Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley and Solihull, and further afield.
