Women in Property South-West recently welcomed nearly 200 guests to their annual summer drinks event.
Hosted on the JLL roof terrace in Bristol, attendees were from a wide variety of property and construction backgrounds, all looking to celebrate the work of Women in Property.
Lauren Humphrey of sponsors DAC Beachcroft comments: “We wanted to sponsor the event because WiP is really paving the way for the empowerment of women in the sector and inspiring the next generation”.
Ros Trotman of Thrings, also Chair of Women in Property South-West, comments: “We know how important it is to inspire the next generation, and this can be done not only by schools engagement but also by helping support young people to ensure they have a secure home in which to live”.
The event was also a fundraiser for LandAid – the property charity working to end youth homelessness.
Michael Regan of LandAid highlighted some statistics around youth homelessness, which affects 86,000 young people every year, the majority of which are ‘hidden’ homeless, sleeping on floors and moving from place to place rather than sleeping on the streets.
