AkzoNobel recognised as a UK’s ‘Top Employer’

Paints and coatings business – and home of Dulux – AkzoNobel has today been officially recognised by the Top Employers Institute as a Top Employer in the UK.

Being certified as a Top Employer showcases an organisation’s dedication to a better world of work and that it exhibits this through excellent HR policies and people practices. Certification has been granted to AkzoNobel in the UK for its exceptional approach in this area for the ninth year running.

The Top Employers Institute programme certifies organisations based on the participation and results of its HR Best Practices Survey. The survey covers areas including People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Wellbeing and Diversity & Inclusion.

Ed Elliott, Country HR Manager UK, Ireland and the Nordics at AkzoNobel, says: “I’m delighted that AkzoNobel has again achieved the Top Employers certification. To be recognised nine years in a row shows our continued dedication to making AkzoNobel a brilliant place to work. It’s our aim to create a culture that supports people in their work and their wellbeing. We are totally committed to developing colleagues and inspiring them to achieve their full potential – both professionally and personally.

“Being officially recognised as a Top Employer underlines the value and strength of our people-focused campaigns, including: Thrive, our wellbeing programme; The Network, a development forum for women in our business; Scrums, our innovative colleague engagement initiative; and Proud Parents, our maternity/paternity mentoring programme.”

Top Employers Institute CEO, David Plink, says: “Despite the challenging year we have experienced, AkzoNobel has continued to demonstrate the power of putting their people first in the workplace. We are proud to share this year’s announcement and congratulate the organisations who have been certified in their respective countries through the Top Employers Institute programme.”

The programme has certified and recognised more than 1,600 Top Employers in 120 countries/regions across five continents.
