Merger to fuel growth at accountancy firm

MW Medical merger
South West chartered accountants, tax consultants and financial planners, Albert Goodman, has today announced a merger with specialist medical accountants, MW Medical, based in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol.
The merged business will become part of the Albert Goodman group whilst retaining its own well-recognised trading name and will continue to operate out of its current premises on Westbury Hill.
The merger enhances the range of specialist services Albert Goodman can offer the healthcare sector and gives MW Medical the platform it requires to serve its growing client base. The entire MW Medical team of nine employees all join Albert Goodman.
Richard Bugler, Managing Partner at Albert Goodman, said: “We have known MW Medical for some time, a firm that is recognised as a national expert in advising GP practices and consultants. They bring a great deal of experience to the table and together we are one of the largest groups of specialist healthcare sector accountants in the country. This breadth of experience will allow us to provide an unrivalled range of services to our clients in this specialised sector.
“This merger provides us with a great foothold into the Bristol marketplace, being well placed near Southmead Hospital and The Bristol Royal Infirmary, and we are delighted to add the Westbury-on-Trym office to our existing locations across the South West.”
Jim Duggan of MW Medical and a member of the national board of AISMA who joins Albert Goodman as a partner, added: “We are all thrilled to merge with Albert Goodman, a distinguished and well-respected regional accountancy firm. The financial environment for healthcare professionals has become exceptionally complicated in recent years and with the range of resources Albert Goodman can provide, we look forward to providing our current and future clients with everything they need to navigate these challenging times.”
