Alex Scott donates song to Cancer Research UK

I am a mature musician, singer/songwriter, and business entrepreneur, and have had cancer on three previous occasions.

Having recently recovered from prostate cancer, I felt so strongly about the matter, I have written a song called ‘Me & the Big C’, which is about my direct experience of having had the illness recently, and how it has affected me on several different levels.

I am dedicating the song to CRUK, making personal donations and giving people the opportunity to donate directly to CRUK as well, as they do such a great job researching and finding cures for various forms of cancer.

The song will be featured on my new album called ‘Face the Music’, which will be released early in the New Year.

The song reinforces the need to be positive, and deal with the disease in a pragmatic way.

I have previously supported CRUK in raising funds for this very important work, however, I consider it is a privilege to write a song and contribute it to CRUK for what is a very difficult and emotive subject. The campaign will run for one year, with a view to raising £10,000.

‘Me & the Big C’ is available as a download from streaming services iTunes, Spotify and Amazon. Additionally, my website www.alexscottmusic.co.uk features a Giving Page where donations can be made directly to CRUK.

I recently supported CRUK on their stand to raise funds at the amazing ‘Battle Cancer’ event at Olympia in London. I had the opportunity to meet several people there and talked to them directly about my cancer experiences, and how I have come to terms with it and fought back to get on with my life.
