The Metro Mayor for Tees Valley Ben Houchen today announced that Amazon will be bringing its latest fulfilment centre to the region.

Darlington will be Amazon’s first fulfilment centre in the North-East. This opening will create 1,000 permanent jobs and will help meet growing customer demand and support more third-party sellers under its Fulfilment by Amazon programme.

The site will be equipped with advanced Amazon Robotics technology, which will be used on a daily basis to fulfil customer orders and support our employees.

Amazon will be recruiting for a variety of positions in Darlington including HR, IT, Finance, Engineering and Operations roles.

Houchen said: “This is yet another real sign that the Tees Valley is on the move. Good quality, well-paid jobs open for application now.”
