Independent technical consultancy Amido has revealed plans to open its first Manchester office to capitalise on the ‘incredible buzz’ it says is surrounding the city.
Amido is celebrating its 10-year anniversary in 2020, and has enjoyed strong growth during that decade to expand to a 150-strong team.
The firm was founded in Brighton, but relocated to its headquarters to London in 2013 – and will now open its first office in the north of England.
Amico’s new office will be located in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, a rapidly growing technology and innovation hub, and will become home to 15 developers, project managers and business analysts.
The decision has been made to help support Amico’s growing number of clients based in the North, which includes retailer Ralawise and the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Centre.
Senior BA Consultant Aly Mackenzie – who recently rejoined Amido after leaving the company in 2019 to move back north – said the move marks an exciting time for the firm.
He said: “The buzz around Manchester at the moment is incredible.
“I am absolutely delighted to be part of the Amido foundation team up here and, with the talent that there is available here and across the North and North West I have no doubt we will be able to build an outstanding team to support our growth.”
Amido has established a strong reputation for supporting organisations looking to leverage digital technology to increase efficiency, drive innovation and accelerate growth.
It now hopes the opening of a Manchester office will prove an important step in its own growth journey.
CEO Alan Walsh said: “As a proud Northerner myself, the opening of the Manchester office is a particularly proud moment for me.
“Over the last couple of years, we have seen a real shift in our client base with more and more of our work supporting organisations based in the North.
“Now is the perfect time for us to establish our presence in the region.”
