BBC Points West presenter Alex Lovell will be joining Weston College students as the keynote speaker at the annual Celebration of Success awards on 24 November.
The event, at DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House, celebrates Weston College’s most inspirational students. Guests will hear about their determination and some of the incredible things they have achieved over the past year.
Alex Lovell is one of the most famous faces in the West. From her beginnings presenting Playhouse Disney, she has gone on to be the main anchor for BBC Points West and will be delivering this year’s keynote speech at the glittering celebration.
A total of 30 awards will be handed out to students across all faculties as well as staff. Four of these awards will be the ‘Principal’s Gold Awards’, due to be announced on the night, honouring the very best of the best.
Dr Paul Phillips OBE, Principal and Chief Executive of Weston College Group, said: “The event will celebrate the hard work and dedication of our students and staff across the College. We will hear inspirational stories about some of the struggles and hardships they have overcome to achieve their goals and ambitions.
“Here at the College, we put the students at the heart of everything we do. Being able to celebrate their successes and recognise what they have achieved gives me a great sense of pride.
“We are thrilled that Alex Lovell will be our keynote speaker. She’s a great example of how hard work and dedication really pay off.”
Guests at the event will be treated to a welcome drink, followed by a three-course dinner and the presentation of awards.
