Doug Cecil, Mike Griffiths and Liz Ford have joined the team at BDO.

Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has strengthened its Business Restructuring Team with three new appointments.

Doug Cecil joins the firm’s Bristol office as a Senior Manager with 11 years of experience built up in one of Australia’s leading independent advisory and insolvency practices, KordaMentha.

Cecil has worked across a range of industries including hospitality, real estate, haulage, mining and agriculture.

Mike Griffiths and Liz Ford have also joined BDO’s Bristol office.

Griffiths joins the firm as a Senior Executive having worked at Bibby Financial Services and has significant experience in the construction sector.

Ford joins as a trainee having recently graduated from The University of Bath.

Simon Girling, Business Restructuring Partner, said: “Recent political clarity is unlikely to provide a quick fix to a difficult economic environment and many businesses remain uncertain about what the year ahead may bring.

“Growing our business restructuring team makes us even better equipped to help our clients deal with financial and operational challenges they may face going forward.”

Chris Marsden, also a Partner in the Business Restructuring Team, added: “I joined BDO in February 2019 to add further capacity to BDO’s senior restructuring team, and I was immediately impressed by the team’s experience and hands-on approach to assignments.

“The arrival of Doug, Liz and Mike enhances our sector experience and provides more capacity to service clients across the South West and South Wales.”

These appointments come just a few months after BDO announced a landmark year, recording revenues of £578m, a 25% increase on the previous year.
