Beer giant appoints new head of UK and Ireland operations

Beer giant AB InBev, whose brands include Budweiser and Stella Artois, has named Paula Lindenberg as its new North Europe president, heading up the business’ UK and Ireland operations.
Lindenberg, who is currently vice president of marketing for Ambev, the Belgian-owned firm’s Brazilian business, will move to her new role at the start of 2019.

Previously, Lindenberg has held a number of roles in South America and the United States throughout her 17-year stint with AB Inbev, and was responsible for Ambev’s key Latin American brands, including Skol, Brahma and Antarctica.
The news comes one month after the brewer revealed that current UK president Jason Warner will become Zone President for Europe at the beginning of next year.
Commenting on her appointment, Lindenberg said: Britain was renowned for having one of the world’s best pub and beer cultures.
“The variety of beers here is incredible, and our own portfolio has never been stronger or more diverse.
“It is also unique in that it features all three of our global brands – Stella Artois, Budweiser and Corona.
“I can’t wait to work alongside the team in growing the beer category even further.”
Speaking on Lindenberg’s role, Warner added: “I can’t think of a better person to lead the UK onto the next level.
“She has contributed hugely to our Latin American business, leading its growth strategy, expanding its premium beers and reconnecting the business with its brewing heritage.
“I have no doubt that she will bring her own brand of creative vision and energy to these shores.”
