Crowdfunding platform strikes major deals at world summit

FundSurfer and Ideanco

Global business fundraising platform Fundsurfer has secured new partners at the recent World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi.

The partnerships with Ideanco and CLIX will enable Fundsurfer to fund more SME’s, community or creative projects, and green companies both locally and abroad.

Fundsurfer CEO & co-founder Oliver Mochizuki was invited to CLIX to take part in the global marketplace, sitting as an investor along with prominent investor panellists coming from as far as China, while being pitched by 27 global clean tech start-ups.

The company has been an early supporter of climate change projects working previously with the Green Investment Bank and other green funding partners to push investment into the sector.

Talking about the event and the new funding Fundsurfer CEO, Oliver Mochizuki said: “Being part of the CLIX event was a fantastic experience and we are delighted to have secured funding and new partners to support some interesting green start-ups who are doing some amazing things.

“We were also able to promote the different support available for companies looking to work with British businesses and we met leading clean tech technology manufacturers from around the world who are exporting to UK companies, enabling them to manufacture and then export British goods.

“It’s vital UK companies are supported to increase exports for goods and services. This will continue to show the world what the UK can offer and to secure growth and create more jobs.”

Jamie Douglas, International Trade Adviser for Department for International Trade said: “Working with Funding platforms like Fundsurfer helps us to connect with more high growth British businesses looking to export.

“The Department for International Trade and UK Export Finance are here to help and we look forward to supporting UK companies like Fundsurfer to secure more overseas partners and business in 2018.”

The Fundsurfer market visit was supported by the Department for International Trade, European Regional Development Fund and Business West.
