Bristol-based Graphcore among top 10 scale-ups driving investment into the UK

Tech Nation, the scaleup accelerator, has today announced the release of its annual Tech Nation Report, the ultimate state-of-the-nation report on the UK tech sector.

One of the top ten scale-ups driving investment into the UK tech sector, is Bristol-based, Graphcore.

The deep tech company Graphcore was named among the top 10 ‘superstar scaleups’ in 2020, which between them secured a fifth of total UK tech VC investment, at £2.5bn.

VC investment into South West tech reached £525m in 2020, up from £458m in 2019.

The report also revealed that Oxford, Bristol, Cambridge and Edinburgh are top for tech investment outside of London – Bristol attracted £339m in 2020 – placing it third in the UK for VC investment.
