Catering equipment supplier makes acquisition

Catering equipment supplier Nisbets has announced the purchase of Mitre Linen.

Based in Merthyr Tydfil, Mitre Linen has been established for over 70 years and manufactures and supplies the hospitality industry with a range of linen products for all areas of the business.

Speaking of the acquisition, Tim Carr, Finance Director at Nisbets, believes it represents a fantastic opportunity for both Nisbets and the Mitre brand: “This is very much a strategic acquisition which means we now have substantial linen offerings for our customers, that will complement Nisbets’ existing catering equipment product range.

“Mitre has a strong set of values and, like Nisbets, prides itself on giving great service to its loyal customers in a range of sectors, including hotels, universities, hospitals and laundry. We very much look forward to continuing to build Mitre Linen’s capability and offer in the future”

Mitre Linen employs around 95 people at its factory warehouse in the Welsh Valleys and supplies quality products to over 50 countries.

KPMG LLP acted as lead advisor on the sale of Mitre. Andrew Hodgson, Partner at KPMG commented on the transaction: “Having held discussions with potential B2B eCommerce partners across the globe it quickly became clear that the right partner for Mitre was much closer to home. The fit between Nisbets and Mitre is very strong and I’m sure the Mitre business will flourish under Nisbets’ ownership.”
