Bristol franchise opens new signage business following finance package

A Bristol franchisee has opened the city’s first Signs Express production unit after securing a start-up finance package from HSBC.

Ben Walker, who has more than 15 years’ experience running his own businesses, has used the funding from HSBC to support the initial set-up of the franchise, including the acquisition of digital imaging equipment, wide format printers and state-of-the-art cutters.

The new graphics production facility on Avon Bank Industrial Park, just off the A4 Portway, will serve more than 10,000 local businesses.

A full-time Production Manager position has been hired as a result, with a view to create more jobs in the coming months as the business expands.

Ben Walker, Director of Signs Express Bristol, commented: “This new venture will enable me to share my industry knowledge with businesses across Bristol, as well as build my client base through the reputation of a national brand.

“I chose to work with HSBC following the success of a similar Signs Express franchise in Wiltshire, which was also led by HSBC Relationship Manager, Simon Tudball, who has ensured the start-up process has been as smooth as possible.”

HSBC has extensive franchise experience so we were keen to help Ben get off to a flying start and look forward to supporting him as the business grows.”

Signs Express provides a complete signage service, from design to manufacture and installation.

Services include vehicle graphics and wrapping, window graphics, exhibition and display graphics, exterior and interior signs, DDA compliant Health & Safety signs, labels and stickers, canvas and wide format prints for a range of business and domestic customers.
