Photo of Bristol harboursideThe University of the West of England (UWE, Bristol) and the Leadership Centre, London are joining forces to curate the UK’s first Festival of Leadership.

With a theme of ‘rethinking leadership for an uncertain world’, the festival is designed to inspire creative thinking and encourage collaboration across and beyond public, private and voluntary sectors.

The three-day event held in November 2016, will take place on Bristol’s historic Harbourside and aims to initiate conversations, reshape agendas and catalyse action around leadership and learning for the 21st Century.

Confirmed speakers include: Guy Watson, Founder of Riverford; Tim ‘Mac’ Macartney, public speaker, author and founder of Embercombe; Kalpna Woolf, Founder of 91 Ways to Build a Global City and Chair of Trustees, Frank Water; Helen Bevan, Chief Transformation Officer, Horizons Group, NHS England and Marshall Ganz, Senior Lecturer in Public Policy, Harvard University.

Professor Richard Bolden, Director of Bristol Leadership Centre at UWE, Bristol comments: “in volatile times, effective leadership is seen as key to success but many existing frameworks and practices are no longer fit for purpose.

“Social, economic, political, cultural and environmental pressures demand flexibility and adaptability as well as clarity of purpose and direction.

“The Festival of Leadership invites people to connect, collaborate and engage with others from diverse backgrounds in order to better understand the challenges we face and to explore alternative ways of working and leading together.”
