Bristol commercial law firm Meade King has announced its sponsorship of the Bristol Flyers Women’s basketball team.

Meade King has agreed to be the team’s main kit sponsor as part of the firm’s drive to support women’s and grassroots sport in the city.

Established in the 2015/16 season, Bristol Flyers Women have quickly become one of the leading female basketball teams in the South West. They compete in England’s National League Division 1 and play their games at the SGS Wise Arena.

Under the guidance of ex-Flyers men’s captain Gareth Till, Flyers women have been a competitive force in their first few seasons back in national league basketball, reaching the play-offs twice.

The club is eager to establish itself as a leading female force in British basketball and have a number of local youth teams to encourage more girls to get involved in the sport.

Gareth said: “We are really excited that Meade King has agreed to sponsor the women’s team and help put women’s sport on the map. We are a self-supporting team with big ambitions so any help we receive from local businesses is very much appreciated.”

Meade King’s managing partner James Hawkins, said: “We are very pleased to support the Bristol Flyers Women’s basketball team and wish them every success for this season and for the future. As a firm we want to engage more with women’s sport which is quite rightly growing in importance and support a team that’s championing women and girls in sport.”
