International airline British Airways has announced that that it will suspend all flights to and from London’s Gatwick Airport due to a sharp fall in customers amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

This move follows a similar announcement by easyJet yesterday.

In a statement, the company said: “Due to the considerable restrictions and challenging market environment, like many other airlines, we will temporarily suspend our flying schedule at Gatwick.”

Shares in IAG, which owns British Airways, have more than halved in value since the beginning of the month and changed hands yesterday at 212.6p each.
