BSG appoints ex-Cowlin MD Neil Sherreard to its board

The Building Safety Group (BSG), which has a large customer base in North Somerset, has appointed Neil Sherreard to its board of directors.

Neil returns to the board after a previous ten year stint whilst he was managing director of Cowlin Construction.

Neil Sherreard is the third new non-executive director to be appointed to the board this year; the other two are Guy Leach of Cardiff construction firm Knox & Wells and Rupert Perkins of John Perkins Construction Ltd which is based in Bristol.

The Building Safety Group currently has over 750 member companies, comprising 20,000 people across 3,500 workplaces.

Neil’s aim is to help the Building Safety Group to expand its membership, increase the amount of training it delivers and help it to consolidate its position as the UK’s leading health, safety and environmental consultancy.

Neil Sherreard comments: “The Building Safety Group plays a vital role in raising and maintaining excellent health and safety standards across more than 3,500 construction sites and offices throughout the country.

“It is because I feel the Building Safety Group plays such a crucial role in an area as important as health and safety that I am pleased to return to the group to assist the board with its expansion plans and to help enhance the services that it offers to its members.”

Michael Setter, chairman of the Building Safety Group comments: “Neil has a very wide experience of the construction industry having worked for both regional and national contractors. His interest in and commitment to health and safety is well known and he will be a great asset to the Board.”

Neil Sherreard was previously on the Building Safety Group board from 1998 until 2008.
