Business advisory firm acquires established Kidderminster accountancy practice

Baldwins, which was originally founded in Walsall and has now grown to 65 offices around the UK, has acquired chartered accountants dhjh, which is based at Wyre Forest House on Finepoint Way.

dhjh was founded in the mid-1980s and now employs 15 staff, providing services to over 550 businesses and individuals. These services range from general accountancy and compliance work through to specialist tax advice and additional services such as business development.

The firm will continue to be based at Kidderminster’s Wyre Forest House after moving there three years ago, and will continue trading as dhjh while working closely with the neighbouring Baldwins office in Stourbridge.

Jane Swann is now a partner at dhjh after joining the firm 13 years ago, and believes the partnership with Baldwins is the perfect platform for further growth.

She said: “The benefit of joining forces with a progressive, national business such as Baldwins enables us to offer a variety of added-value services in one place to help Worcestershire’s businesses develop even further, rather than having to pass them on to a third party.

“Having access to dedicated specialist teams within the IT, banking and finance, corporate finance and tax sectors will prove particularly useful in helping businesses to plan their futures while also navigating potential future obstacles.

“Complying with Making Tax Digital is a key piece of work that businesses need to prepare for at the minute – as well as exploring the potential consequences of exiting Europe in March – so this access to extra expertise couldn’t have come at a better time for our clients.

“This is also a great opportunity for our staff to expand their skillset into other areas – be it forensic accounting or restructuring and insolvency – and progress in their careers.

“It is business as usual from ours and our clients’ perspective, and we look forward to playing an increasing role in the fortunes of Worcestershire’s business community.”

Baldwins, a CogitalGroup company, is one of the UK’s leading business services groups. Currently, CogitalGroup has 4,700 people operating from 150 offices in seven countries, with revenue in excess of £320m.
