The UK’s first evidence-based gut health food company has secured a finance facility from HSBC UK to help it continue supporting the nation’s gut health during the coronavirus outbreak.

Chester-based Bio&Me, which was established in November 2019, will use the finance package to keep supply steady and stock levels high while maintaining excellent customer service for its existing customers.

Good gut health has been linked to better mental health, with our diets not only contributing to physical wellbeing but influencing brain functionality, brain health and mood as well – all important factors as we continue working from home and living in isolation.

Martin Lyons, Area Director for North & Mid Wales at HSBC UK, added: “We are delighted that we were able to support during these challenging times. Bio&Me is an incredible new start-up with great potential and innovative products specialising in gut health, which we know contributes to our overall physical and mental health. We look forward to seeing the company develop and flourish over time.”

Jon Walsh, Director of Bio&Me, said: “This has been an unprecedented time for all industries and our small team has been working tirelessly to provide for our customers and keep stock levels high. With HSBC UK’s financial support, we’ve now been able to cover our working capital needs and increase levels of stock to supply to our large customer-base. Our relationship manager William Jones made the process incredibly straightforward and we would recommend the bank to any business needing extra support.”
