Clearwater International has advised the shareholders of Hippo Digital (Hippo), a design-focused digital transformation consultancy, on its minority investment from Growth Capital Partners (GCP), a leading private equity firm.
Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Leeds, Hippo’s 160-strong team of consultants provide a unique evidence-based, user-centred offering, predominantly to public sector organisations.
Working with organisations such as the NHS, Department for Education, and Department for Work and Pensions, Hippo supports customers on their digital transformation journey through a range of best-in-class services including research, design, delivery, engineering and data.
The Clearwater International team consisted of Partners Richard Goldsack and Carl Houghton, Directors Helen Lowe and Glenn Clarke, Associate Directors Dan Shrimpton and Kirsty Handley, and Associate Tom Hickey.
Adam Lewis, Managing Director of Hippo Digital said: “Going through this process has been complex and difficult to balance with the day to day running of the business; it’s easy to quickly become out of your depth or mired in detail. Having someone like Clearwater on your team to show you what good looks like, guide you through the process, and keep you focused on what is important is absolutely essential. They have advised and supported us throughout, working tirelessly on our behalf to secure a great result for us. We now have a partner in GCP that we are confident can propel us through the next phase, but importantly is the right cultural fit for the business.”
