Clearwater International advises Sentinel Performance Solutions Group on its sale to Aalberts N.V.
Clearwater International has advised Sentinel Performance Solutions Group Limited (Sentinel), a UK supplier of products to improve the performance of heating and closed water systems on its sale to Aalberts N.V. (Aalberts), a global industrial technology group headquartered in Utrecht, the Netherlands and listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The sale marks the exit for majority shareholder Electra Private Equity Plc (Electra), who invested in the business in 2011.
Based in Daresbury (UK), Sentinel specialises in the development and distribution of chemical and filtration products to clean, protect and maintain heating and cooling systems in buildings through the optimisation of water quality.
The Sentinel portfolio of additives, filters, and scale inhibitors ensures heating and cooling systems operate efficiently delivering energy savings, improvements to heating system performance and prolonging their operational life.
The Clearwater International team was led by Michael Loudon (Partner), with support from Rob Britton (Partner), Robert Umpleby (Associate Director) and Courtney Walker (Executive).
Michael Loudon, Partner, Clearwater International said: “It has been a pleasure to work with David Barrett and his team in delivering an excellent result for all shareholders. This transaction marks the start of an exciting new phase of growth for the business as part of the Aalberts’ family. We are confident of Sentinel’s continued success. More broadly, this deal illustrates the global demand we are seeing for assets linked to hydronic heating systems as decarbonisation continues to gather pace.”
David Barrett, CEO, Sentinel Performance Solutions Group said: “We have really enjoyed working with the Clearwater International team on the successful sale of the business. From our first discussions with their team, through to completion of the sale, they have provided excellent, commercially focused support. I honestly do not believe that we would have achieved such a successful outcome if we had been advised by others. Clearwater International are a well-resourced, well organised and highly professional adviser who have added real value for Sentinel.”
Gavin Manson, Chief Financial and Operating Officer of Electra said: “Michael and the Clearwater International team ran a clinical process, navigating the complexities of the pandemic and delivering an exceptional result for Electra and our shareholders.”
