Cook Corporate Solicitors have advised on the sale of Bristol-based accountancy practice Balson & Co to Wilkinson and Partners.
For Wilkinson and Partners, the acquisition coincides with the firm celebrating its 30th business anniversary.
Keith Balson has been running Balson & Co based on Whiteladies Road, for over thirty years, providing full accounting services to Bristol’s business scene.
He will retire following the sale.
Charles Cook, managing partner of Cook Corporate Solicitors, comments: “I was delighted to act on the sale and wish Wilkinson and Partners all the best with the purchase.”
Phil Jones, Wilkinson and Partners Director, comments: “There was a lot of synergy between the two businesses, so it was a natural fit as part of our growth plans.
“With Making Tax Digital on the horizon, accounting has changed a lot in the last two years and will continue to develop at a fast pace and we are very well placed to take Balson & Co’s clients through the maze of getting ready for this.”
Charles has acted on the acquisition and merger of a number of professional services practices in the region including last year the sale of Houghton Stone to Milstead Langdon.
Simon Norton from Bristol Business Brokers advised Wilkinson and Partners on the acquisition.
Charles has not long set up Cook Corporate and did so after selling his stake in Cook & Co Solicitors, a firm he founded in 2008 alongside Vicki Neath.
