Croissant factory set to double capacity following £4m investment

Délifrance, a bakery product supplier, has completed a £4m expansion of its production factory in Leicestershire, doubling its capacity.
Délifrance UK managing director Andrew Cole has said the site, which runs 24 hours a day, 364 days a year making baked goods for supermarkets, caterers and restaurants, will have around 200 people on the factory floor with potential to add more jobs as production grows.
The move also sees energy efficient ovens, glazing, cooling and filling machines as well as new conveyor systems being installed.
Délifrance UK, which also has a factory in Southall, West London, has an annual turnover of €150m euros (approximately £133m.
On the expansion, Cole said: “Our people make us who we are, so it’s exciting to be able to expand our team further, continue to develop their skills, and get even more talented staff creating the products our customers in Wigston and beyond know and love.
“These changes to staff facilities and our all new training structure show that this is as much an investment in our team as it is an investment in boosting our capacity.”
