Duke of Edinburgh success at Churchill Academy
Over 60 students completed bronze, silver and gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards at Churchill Academy this year.
68 Students completed a range of activities incorporating volunteering, physical, skills and expedition elements.
Many of the volunteering activities have supported and benefited local community groups, charities and clubs whilst the skills section saw enrichments to the individuals themselves.
Dr Barry Wratten, Headteacher at Churchill comments: “The Duke of Edinburgh’s award is a real adventure for our students but it is also a great challenge and they need to work hard to achieve success.
“We are proud of all of our students who have succeeded this year and we know this experience will be valued by them both now and in future life.”
Over 300,000 young people are currently taking part in DofE programmes in the UK.
