Employee is number one out of 78,000

A member of staff from a hotel in the region has won a prestgious award.

Jon Peek, who works as Assistant Restaurant Manager within the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse at DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House in Congresbury won the Spirit of Care Award run by the Hilton hotel group.

Jon won ahead of the group’s best employees, which includes over 78,000 people across 25 countries.

He started working at the hotel in 2007.

Colin Badcock, General Manager at the hotel comments: “This award is a fantastic achievement for Jon and shouldn’t be underestimated.

“We are lucky to have such a hard working person as part of our team that does so much for the hotel.

“Jon takes on many other commitments which go beyond his role and he has been using his diverse range of skills in helping organise charitable events going on at the hotel.

“Jon runs our Care Committee and is heavily involved with the local community for fundraising ideas.

“Lately he has been focussing on Children’s Hospice South West which needs support to help terminally ill children in the local area.”

Jon comments: “I’m delighted to have been presented this award and I’m so happy that by working for DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House I have had the opportunity to work on so many other projects and help raise money for some amazing charities.

“To get this award is an extra bonus which I really appreciate and it’s going to motivate me to keep going with my charity and events work.”
