Famous saxophonist to perform at Winscombe Cricket Club

A famous saxophonist who has worked with music legends James Brown and Van Morrison will perform at Winscombe Cricket Club.

Pee Wee Ellis will perform an evening of swing and blues at the cricket club’s ‘DIY Jazz Restaurant’ on Saturdat January 21st 2012.

The DIY Jazz Restaurant has been running for three years and is the brainchild of painter and singer Ros Cuthbert who hosts eclectic music evenings and performs with an array of firs-class musicians from Bristol, Cheltenham and elsewhere.

Ros comments: “We are delighted to have booked the legendary saxophonist Pee Wee Ellis for the next DIY JR evening. Pee Wee is something really special.

“For the evening Winscombe Cricket Club will have a makeover to create a candlelit night club atmosphere. We call it a DIY Jazz Restaurant because the DIY part is the food – people are invited to bring a picninc or takeway, whilst using the bar for drinks.”

Tickets cost £10.00 and you can book them by calling Ros on: 01934 842970 or emailing roscuthbert@hotmail.com. Group bookings are welcome and bookings are encouraged beforehand. Doors open at 7.45pm. With the event running from  8.00-10.30pm.
