Former chief Brexit negotiator for Theresa May while she was Prime Minister, Olly Robbins, is set to join global investment bank Goldman Sachs, the Cabinet Office has today revealed.
However, Robbins will not be joining the firm until after a sabbatical at the University of Oxford, where he will be the first holder of a visiting fellowship, set up in memory of former Cabinet Secretary Jeremy Heywood.
The civil servant led negotiations with Brussels during May’s tenure as PM before she was forced to retire.
Robbins’ work has also earned him a knighthood from former prime minister, as it was announced in her resignation honours list earlier this week.
His role within Goldman Sachs will be as Managing Director of the firm’s investment banking division.
