The Restaurant Group has today confirmed that it will be cutting up to 3,000 jobs and close 125 of its Frankie & Benny’s restaurants across the UK.

The firm behind other chain restaurants Chiquito and Wagamamas are also set to enter into an insolvency procedure – also known as a Company Voluntary arrangement – which will allow it to restructure and close ita unprofitable restaurants.

Andy Hornby, CEO of The Restaurant Group (TRG) said: “The issues facing our sector are well documented and we have already taken decisive action to improve our liquidity, reduce our cost base and downsize our operations. I would like to wholeheartedly thank all of my TRG colleagues for their continued understanding and extraordinary commitment during this unprecedented period.”
