European cruise firm, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, has revealed plans to cut a third of its UK head office staff due to the impact of COVID-19.
Fred Olsen employs around 150 people at its office in Ipswich, Suffolk.
Managing Director Peter Deer said: “The Covid-19 pandemic has hit the cruise industry particularly hard. We still don’t know when we can sail again, with the government still advising against cruising.”
The family-owned Norweigan cruise operator, which offers worldwide cruise holidays, had previously cancelled more than 100 holidays until March 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.
