GKN Aerospace and Weston College join forces to launch apprenticeship programme

A  apprenticeship programme is to be launched by Weston College and engineering company GKN Aerospace.

The College has been chosen by GKN Aerospace – Filton as a training provider for its September 2015 apprentice intake, following a competitive selection process.

In making its announcement, GKN Aerospace noted the College’s business focused approach, quality of facilities and the dedication and commitment of staff to ensuring a high quality learning experience for apprentices as key areas which led to the successful selection of Weston College.

Paul Ashbee, Training and Development Manager, comments: “We are delighted to extend our training portfolio to include Weston College and we look forward to working with them with our new apprentices.”

GKN Aerospace apprentices will train at new state-of-the-art facilities on the South West Skills Campus, Weston-super-Mare.

GKN Aerospace supplies parts to the civil and military global aviation industry, and employs over 12,000 people across three continents at 40 locations, including one in Filton on the outskirts of Bristol.
