Global fitness firm ClassPass appoints UK General Manager
Will Brereton has been appointed as the UK General Manager of the health and fitness subscription company ClassPass. As General Manager of ClassPass UK, Will takes responsibility for continuing the rapid growth in ClassPass’s biggest international market.
London recently became the third biggest city for ClassPass globally, which ClassPass attributes to the growth of the studio fitness and wellness sector in the UK.
Will comes to ClassPass from Deliveroo where he was Global Head of the Commercial Legal team. A lawyer by training, Will has been involved in the fitness industry for over 20 years – both as a fitness instructor and in senior roles at home fitness giant Beachbody and New Zealand based group exercise company, Les Mills.
ClassPass launched in the US in 2013 and expanded to the UK – its first international launch – in 2015. To date, more than three million classes have been booked on the ClassPass platform in the UK.
In the last 12 months, ClassPass has launched in Edinburgh, Manchester, Brighton and Bristol.
Will’s priority is to widen the scope of the ClassPass Empowerment Programme, which helps studios seeking to expand their operations and promote the growth of the studio fitness sector.
Will Brereton, UK General Manager at ClassPass, said: “So far, the ClassPass Empowerment Programme has been hugely beneficial in assisting world class UK brands like Core Collective and Boom Cycle expand and grow.
“I am looking forward to building on this success by helping more homegrown brands succeed, particularly those born outside London, whether this is through using our data insights to help refine their offering or enabling them to grow into new location or markets, both in the UK and internationally.”
