Willmott Dixon Interiors has been appointed to deliver the £2.2m conversion and refurbishment of a sports centre at the University of Warwick.
The fit-out and refurbishment specialist contractor will transform the Russell Group university’s 42,500 sq ft former sports building into a facility for student examinations.
The building will also provide accommodation for the Warwick Innovation Group, a post-graduate hub and additional timetabled teaching space. Works include alterations to drainage and the existing envelope.
The project is the first to be delivered by Willmott Dixon Interiors as part of the University of Warwick’s new five-year Building Refurbishment Framework. It is expected to be complete by March 2020.
Phil Crowther, director at Willmott Dixon Interiors, said: “Willmott Dixon has forged a strong and collaborative partnership with the University of Warwick during several years. As the interiors arm of the business, we are extremely proud to further that relationship by being part of the university’s framework agreement. We are very much looking forward to delivering this new project, our first as part of that framework.
“Our expanding Birmingham office has enjoyed a successful year, with appointments to deliver a series of high-profile fit out and refurbishment projects across the city and the wider West Midlands. With the best people in place to manage a significant pipeline of new business, we are anticipating a strong start to 2020.”
