Green Business of the Year revealed

Interior1Bristol based food establishment Friska has been named Green Business of the Year at a recent Awards Ceremony.

The Awards form part of The Bristol Big Green Week and come on the back of Bristol’s recent success in being named European Green Capital 2015.

The title of Green Business of the Year was awarded in recognition of Friska’s achievements in environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

The judging panel, who included representatives from Business West, Forum for the Future and Big Green Capital Fund were impressed with Friska’s achievement of reducing their “Waste to Landfill” to zero and their focus on improving resource efficiency.

Ed Brown, one of the founders of Friska comments: “We were delighted to have been shortlisted and to actually win this award means a great deal to the whole team who work hard towards our goals and values.

“The recent investment spend on energy efficient equipment has had a triple benefit to the business, it has reduced our carbon footprint, reduced our electricity spend and improved the working environment in our kitchens, by making them much cooler to work in.”
