Weston Super TelevisionWeston Super Television is ready to officialy launch and become the town’s very own online television channel, which will be free to watch and available on your computer, ipad and phone.

The station will broadcast a range of shows such as ‘The Cliff Moore Show’,  which sees local musicians playing acoustic numbers, talking about their music and jamming with Cliff.

‘Weston super Mum on the Sofa’, which is produced by a local mums forum and each week features local experts or activity leaders discussing child-raising issues and all things ‘mummy’.

‘Prime Time’, a show presented by local retired residents, Anne and Matthew and a political show called ‘Coffee with a Councillor’, which sees Mel Ashworth interviewing Weston’s town councillors.

Channel Manager Keely Major comments:

“We are also currently at the production stage of a number of comedy dramas called ‘Weston – The Only Way’ and a comedy soap about a local drama group called ‘watch this space’.

“And we are keen to get involved with all areas of the community and have recently started streaming the home games of Weston Football Club and Weston Rugby Club, together with our own football chat show ‘OFFSIDE’ which is hosted by Weston FC.”

Richard Browne is Creative Director of Weston Super Television and comments:

“Furthermore, we are also working with all the four local secondary schools and with Weston College to produce more youth content and some of the local schools are coming into the studio to produce their own programmes.”

And to celebrate the launch, WestonSuperTelevision.com is also holding a film competition looking for the best short film featuring WSM. The film should be under five minutes long and the best film – voted by the viewers – will win £1000 and a chance to produce more programmes for the channel.
