Online healthy food retailer musclefood has opened up 2,000 additional delivery slots aimed at key workers as coronavirus continues to grip the country.

They’ll be reducing delivery times of their essentials hamper to just two days to support the incredible work they’re doing in the NHS and on the frontline.

This comes at a time when concerned Brits are struggling to get essential fresh food items and are following government guidelines to stay at home and isolate.

Earlier this week the retailer launched an additional 2,000 slots for next day delivery from 24th March on the hamper. More are likely to be added in the coming days.

It includes enough fresh meat for an average family including chicken, beef mince and steak plus three items from their best seller range.

They’ll be delivering from all sites across the UK and believe by standardising the order contents, they can reduce the turnaround from order to delivery considerably.

The retailer has seen unprecedented levels of traffic to its website over the last seven days. New customers are currently accounting for around 68% of all orders month to date and revenue increase is 559% above planned demand

Nick Preston, musclefood.com CEO comments: “Our primary focus at the moment is to get food out to the people who need it and we are working around the clock to make sure this happens.

“That priority now has to be the key workers in our NHS, police and other teams who are helping fight the virus alongside our existing customers. They really are the nations heroes and we want to do all we can to support them. All they need to do is select our Express Delivery Essentials hamper and we will fast track their delivery for them.”

Nick continues: “The demand we’re seeing is unprecedented which is why we’ve worked hard with our suppliers and delivery partners to add additional delivery slots at a time when other retailers are struggling.

“Our message to customers is in line with that of all retailers and the government. Please be considerate when buying. There is no need to stock-pile or panic buy. All retailers including musclefood are working with suppliers to ensure product supply lines remain open.

“Panic buying puts extra strain on the supply chain and then creates a false economy as price is driven up by the demand placed on the producers, suppliers and raw materials.”

Keyworkers ordering from musclefood simply select the Express Delivery on the essentials hamper and the delivery will be fast tracked.
