Davidsons Homes has confirmed that it will be contributing £1.8m to the Hanslope community throughout the lifetime of its development ‘The Wheatfields’ which launches next month.

As well as dedicated areas of open space for the public to enjoy, a children’s play park and landscaping on the development itself, Davidsons will also be making large financial contributions to improve the local area for all residents of the village.

These contributions include more than £640,000 going to secondary schools and sixth-form education, more than £220,000 towards health care, and more than £130,000 towards playing fields.

Other contributions include payments towards allotments, burial grounds, early years education, public art and various other valuable community services. Having listened to feedback from local residents, Davidsons is also taking special measures to preserve the wildlife on site, with 227 new trees being planted across the development and an ancient hedge set to be reinstated along the boundary once works are complete.

The housebuilder is also contributing to planned improvement works to the junction of Castlethorpe Road, Long Street and Gold Street and the junction of Forest Road and Hartwell Road, as well as installing traffic calming measures in Long Street Road and providing a footway in Williams Close.

Simon Tyler, Head of Sales for Davidsons Homes South division, said: “It’s easy to see why Hanslope is such a sought after location for house hunters, with a great school on the doorstep, a lovely village centre and a strong traditional community feel.

“We are dedicated to ensuring this is preserved, which is why we will be investing heavily in the infrastructure and facilities within the area for existing and new residents alike.”

He added: “We’re looking forward to getting to know the community here and welcoming our first visitors on the 6th of July.”
