Uttoxeter Racecourse has secured an ongoing sponsorship deal from local housebuilder Bellway.

Bellway kickstarted its support at Music Live Race Day, an event which introduced an evening of racing followed by a live performance from the band, Madness.

The housebuilder contributed a total of £1,500 towards two races at the event and received all the perks that the racecourse had to offer in return, such as presenting the prize and naming the race.

Racing Sales Manager Liz O’Sullivan said: “Bellway have been a great support to the racecourse in 2019.

“We’ve really encouraged and welcomed the support of local housebuilders, so this is something we’re very pleased about securing.”

She added: “We are hugely thankful to Bellway for their sponsorship and look forward to welcoming them back again in July.

“Due to the costs it takes to run these events, sponsorship from companies like Bellway are always valued, and very grateful.”

Set in 110 acres of Staffordshire countryside between Stoke-on-Trent and Derby, Uttoxeter Racecourse is one of the National Hunt tracks in the Midlands.

Sales Director for Bellway West Midlands, Marie Richards, said: “We’re very proud to be supporting Uttoxeter Racecourse.

“The racecourse has been providing people in the area with great entertainment and long-lasting memories for over a century now.

“We have a heritage of building in this area, so we’re very proud of our local roots and we do our best to give back to communities in the areas in which we build our homes.”
