Huboo opens first 4,200-square-meter logistics centre in Spain

Huboo, a fast-growing company offering its fulfilment service, has announced its launch into Spain with the upcoming opening of its first 4,200m2 warehouse in Madrid due in October, which will create more than 100 jobs for the region.

Founded in 2017 in Bristol, UK, Huboo already has expansion plans in Europe and the US, as evidenced by the opening of its first centre in the Netherlands and the upcoming opening of this new centre in Spain.

Huboo combines innovative and intuitive technology with a pan-European logistics network led by highly skilled and customer-focused warehouse teams. Its software integrates with all major sales channels and allows eCommerce companies to manage their entire inventory from a single tool, giving them access to a smarter, more productive and people-managed warehouse. Within it, Huboo houses its teams in self-contained “micro-centres” that replicate the inputs, processes and outputs that occur in traditional, larger warehouses, but in a much more controlled space. The entire distribution process is managed by Huboo’s management software.

Spain is the second country in Huboo’s European expansion plans following its launch in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, at the beginning of June this year. For its arrival in the capital, the fulfilment services company has appointed a specialised team to manage the new warehouse, and expect to be operational in October. This space will be located in Vicálvaro, will have 4,200 square meters to meet the needs of customers and will allow the creation of more than 100 jobs next year. With this new opening, Huboo now has more than 16,000 square meters in total storage space.

The Spanish warehouse is the latest addition to Huboo’s portfolio, following an extraordinary period of growth in the business. The company has grown from two employees, 60 customers and £20,000 in monthly recurring revenue (MRR) to more than 250 employees, more than 1,000 customers and £1.2 million MRR in just four years.

Regarding the expansion in Spain, Martin Bysh, co-founder and CEO of Huboo, explains: “Spain is one of the most important economies in the European Union, but the eCommerce market is still in its early stages and has great potential for growth. The quality of the infrastructure and the incredible growth experienced by the eCommerce market over the past year, with online retail sales increasing by 20% in 2020, consolidated our decision to establish ourselves in Spain to offer our fulfilment services.”

José Luis Moreno, Director General of Economy of the Madrid City Council, comments: “From Madrid City Council we would like to welcome Huboo. The establishment of this British company, a benchmark in technological advances applied to distribution, is another step in the consolidation of the city’s logistics hub. In addition to generating employment in Vicálvaro, the arrival of companies like Huboo represents a valuable contribution to the entire metropolitan economy.”
