Broadband and telecommunications provider KCOM has announced that its chief executive officer Jane Aikman has decided to leave the business, resigning from the board on 30 June 2018.

The Hull-based firm has announced that Anna Bielby, one of the company’s finance directors, will join the company’s board from 1 July 2018, stepping up to the role of interim chief financial officer.

A permanent appointment to this position will be made following the conclusion of the chief executive managed succession process, the company says.

Bill Halbert, chief executive of KCOM, said: “I am delighted to welcome Anna to the board. She has the required skills to perform the role well and will bring additional value to discussions at both a board and senior leadership level. I look forward to working more closely with her as she takes on her new role.”

Bielby is a fellow of the institute of chartered accountants for England and Wales and has worked closely in a supporting role to the chief financial officer for the last four years.
