Institute of Export & International Trade Appoints New Director General

The Institute of Export and International Trade has announced the appointment of Marco Forgione as its new Director General.

Forgione, currently the Director General of the British Antique Dealers’ Association (BADA), will take up his post in January 2020.

Prior to his role as DG of BADA, Marco has served as a government advisor, held senior positions in the education and communications sector and has led numerous Trade Missions to overseas trading partners including to China, the UAE, Qatar and India.

Forgione said: “I am delighted and honoured to be appointed as the Institute of Export & International Trade’s next DG, particularly at this critical time for the UK. Export and international trade are absolutely fundamental to building the UK’s future. The Institute has a central role to play in helping businesses prepare for and exploit the opportunities this new landscape offers, through its world-class suite of qualifications, training courses, membership offerings and events.”

Terry Scuoler, Chairman of the IOE&IT, said: “It will be a great pleasure to welcome Marco to the Institute and to work with him to deliver our future strategy, continually improve our service offering to members and to be ever more effective in helping companies to access export markets and trade more effectively.”
