Bath-based strategic workplace design and build company Interaction has made another senior hire, recruiting experienced Contracts Director Richard Saunders to lead their team of Contracts Managers and Site Managers in delivering incredible workplaces.

Interactions’ Managing Director, Dieter Wood comments: “Richard is an enthusiastic, ambitious, results driven individual with over 23 years’ experience in the construction industry. He’s a strong leader, people manager and problem solver with great commercial awareness and a proven track record in delivering large complex schemes. He has a

broad range of experience across different sectors both in the UK and beyond into mainland Europe and is passionate about doing his part to improve standards across the construction industry.”

An expert in both Cat A and Cat B major works projects, Saunders has overseen developments of up to £20m, winning the 2019 CIJ Hungary award for ‘Best Fit Out Project’ for his work with Jaguar Land Rover in Budapest.

Saunders brings a wealth of experience in contract administration, including negotiations and tenders, and is an active member of various client steering committees and regional development groups.

A chartered Senior Construction Project Manager, and member of the Institute of Building, Saunders will oversee the continuous professional development and upskilling of all Interaction’s site teams, building on the ongoing drive to ensure all site staff obtain NVQ-level certification.

Having worked in London and across Europe for 20 years, Richard is looking forward to a better work/life balance by bringing his skills closer to home, whilst maintaining strong relationships across the south.

This news follows the granting of planning permission for Interaction’s new cutting-edge office development at 3-4 Edgar Mews in the heart of Bath. The project involves renovating an old distillery building into a flexible workspace which can serve up to 70 staff, making it one of the largest new offices in the area.
