Twitter founder Jack Dorsey’s first-ever Tweet has been sold to a Malaysian entrepreneur for $2.9m (c.£2.1m).

The value of the bid was made using cryptocurrency Ether – one of the main competitors to the more famous, Bitcoin. Dorsey will be donating the funds to Give Directly’s Africa Response.
New owner, Sina Estavi, is the CEO of tech firm Bridge Oracle acquired the Tweet through an NFT – a unique digital certificate that states who owns a photo, video or other form of online media.
