Jobs fair to showcase employment opportunities

Jobs Fair 13.2.14North Somerset Council’s Economic Development Service will be holding a Jobs Fair at the Winter Gardens on March 25.

The Jobs Fair will give businesses an opportunity to show what jobs they have available.

Last year’s Jobs Fair proved to be very popular with 30 major employers and almost 1000 jobseekers in attendance, some of whom were successfully interviewed for jobs on the day.

To date there are have 30 confirmed employers for this year’s event, including EDF (Hinkley Point), Bristol Airport, GE Oil and Gas, Thatchers Cider, Yeo Valley, Balfour Beatty, Ascot Group, Knightstone Housing, Ipeco Composites, Persimmon Homes, Bristol & Wessex Billing Services, Somerset Care, Grand Pier, SSP UK and many more.

Also attending will be Westonworks, Ready4Work, Weston College and North Somerset Enterprise Agency.

Westonworks is funded by North Somerset Council and Alliance Homes, and is based in the Information Station on St Andrew’s Parade.

Ready4Work – The council’s ready4work project is aimed at people who have been out of work for six months or more and are claiming health-related benefits such as Incapacity Benefit and Employment Support Allowance, as well as lone parents claiming Income Support.
