KOMI Group completes acquisition of The Tradesman

The KOMI Group – the Manchester headquartered social media, marketing, and licensing business – has acquired The Tradesman, which is a specialist, multi-platform, social brand.

The Tradesman is the second-largest community for tradespeople in the world, boasting millions of views across all social channels, including one of the top five fastest-growing UK TikTok pages in Feb 2022.

The value of the deal has not been disclosed, but the deal has seen the KOMI Group acquire the brand along with all of its associated assets from Fix Media, which is located in London.

Sam Lenehan, Growth and Strategy Director at the KOMI Group, said: “The acquisition of The Tradesman is an exciting deal for us as it allows us to enter a new market. It is also an opportunity for us to bolster our existing digital publishing portfolio and provide a highly targeted platform which our clients can use to reach a new and growing community.

“Moving forward we will be building on the fantastic work done by Fix Media. The focus will now be using our expert production and sourcing teams to supercharge the brand’s growth over the coming months.”

KOMI Group is a three-divisional business consisting of one of the UK’s largest digital publishing portfolios, a social-first digital agency, and video content licensing hub. Its team of content creators, analysts and video producers have made and then distributed video content and viral campaign adverts for international brands such as BBC Films, O2, Universal, Bud Light and Disney.

On average, the company delivers over one billion views across its portfolio of pages each month.

In September last year, ARK Media, KOMI’s licensing division, signed distribution partnerships with Reuters and AFLO that will give the business the opportunity to distribute its content to a broad network of leading international publishers and broadcasters for the first time.
