Leeds office extension to generate 100 new jobs

Planning permission has been secured to extend No 2 The Embankment, a prominent four-storey office building in Leeds.

Acting on behalf of CBRE Global Investors, CBRE’s Planning and Development team lodged an application for the extension last October.

Detailed planning permission has now been received which will lead to the creation of 15,400 sq ft of additional office floor space with the potential to generate more than 100 new jobs for the area.

No 2 The Embankment is a 37,000 sq ft post-modern style building sustainably located 250 metres south of Leeds Railway Station. Nearby occupiers including KPMG Eversheds, BT and Asda.

Edward Harvey, senior planner at CBRE, said: “The scheme will have direct regeneration benefits for the local area through the creation of employment opportunities associated with the construction and operation of the development.

“This efficient adaptation of an existing building will add to the stock of high-quality office space in the area.”
