Brick maker Ibstock has announced a new director of technical services.
Promoting from within, the Leicester-based firm has placed Andy Batterham in the role after 22 years’ with the company.
In the role, Batterham will oversee responsibility for procurement, raw material and ceramic evaluation, quality, energy and environment.
On the position, Batterham, said: “I am honoured to take up this new position with Ibstock Brick. As the company builds on its market leading position, it is important to have a strategic view of our technical services and product development, both for brick and non-brick products.
“My position also gives me the scope to make improvements in other areas of the business, such as sustainability and quality.
“I look forward to pushing Ibstock Brick forward in these areas with the support and backing of our expert team.”
Darren Bowkett, operations director at Ibstock Brick, added: “Andy has worked for Ibstock for 22 years, most recently in a wider group role.
