Leisure business expands with six-figure package

A company that offers retreats in the Welsh mountains has secured a six-figure funding package from Royal Bank of Scotland to support expansion.

Sarah Maliphant, owner of more to Mountain Retreats, has used a commercial loan from the bank to purchase a former working farm in the Brecon Beacons.

Sarah comments: “At my old premises I was limited to holding retreat sessions six or seven times a year but the investment in my new premises has made it a workable business model and will allow more guests to thrive the whole year round.

“The Welsh Mountains is where I learnt my guiding skills and makes it an ideal location to coach, develop and explore the area of natural beauty. This is why I see so many of my clients return as the Brecon Beacons are the perfect tonic.”

Jon Field, relationship director at Royal Bank of Scotland in Cardiff, added: “Getting to know Sarah and her retreat business has been a real pleasure. Her calm and caring nature and love for the mountains is what makes her so good at what she does and we have no doubt this investment in new premises will serve her well.”
