Logistics provider Baxter Freight celebrates major milestone
Nottingham-based logistics provider Baxter Freight has celebrated its 100,000th delivery since its inception four years ago.
The business – which was set up in 2014 by Ian Baxter, Peter Isler and Steve Rafferty – has its head office in Lenton and employs 60 people.
The firm has daily services covering all the main commercial centres in continental Europe and the Nordic region, as well as thriving domestic and overseas divisions.
Founder and chairman, Ian Baxter, said: “Peter, Steve and I started the company in my living room. We didn’t have anything – no people, no computers, no premises, no customers and no suppliers. So, I am delighted that Baxter Freight has reached this landmark.
“We’re a relationships-driven business so it’s important that we provide the best possible customer service to our clients, who each have their own dedicated account manager, which sets us apart from our competitors. Our account managers and operations teams are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the customer is getting the best possible value for money and a market leading service.
“Reaching the milestone of 100,000 shipments is testament to the hardworking Baxter Freight team. Our business has been built on the strength of our people and we’re absolutely committed to recruiting and training staff who want to invest their future with us.”
Baxter Freight – which was named the fastest growing mid-sized company in Nottinghamshire by BDO earlier this year – looks set to be handling around 70,000 shipments this year after recently signing a major new partnership in the Nordic region. With turnover expected to increase from £13m to £18m.
Baxter added: “Over the past four years we have shipped many different types of items, handling jobs of any size – from small packages and pallets to special projects and event logistics – as well as hazardous shipments and temperature-controlled cargo.
“I am really proud of everything Baxter Freight has achieved in such a short period of time and I’m looking forward to seeing the company grow even more over the coming years.”
