Major investment sees hotel defy recession

Inside Beachlands Hotel
A Weston-super-Mare hotel has experienced its best year of trading since the recession struck, thanks to sustained investment in all aspects of the business.
Beachlands Hotel, which overlooks Weston Golf Club, has invested over a quarter of a million pounds in the last three years, upgrading the hotel’s facilities including all of its 20 bedrooms being given a unique and individual make over.
According to Charles Porter, the Hotel’s owner, extensive investment, despite the tough economic conditions, has allowed the business to navigate through the recession relatively unscathed.
He comments: “We’ve been in business for over thirty years and have been through previous recessions. Tough economic times put any business under the microscope and only the best survive such difficult times.
“You have to ensure you’re at the top of your game and that means investing across the whole business.
“We’ve re-decorated all twenty bedrooms individually with a modern vintage boutique feel to them using Sanderson fabrics, Porcelanosa Bathrooms & Hypnos Beds; increased the number of staff and also invested in our menu and facilities.
“I believe that ensuring we offer the highest standard in every area has helped us to experience our best year of trading since 2008.”
Beachlands Hotel is licensed for weddings; has a private pool and sauna; free parking; complimentary super-fast broadband and private dining facilities as well as an in-house therapist offering facials, massage & hot stone treatments.
The Hotel is keen to work closely with all local businesses to ensure that visitors to North Somerset receive a warm and professional welcome to this lovely part of the country.
Beachlands’ working partners include North Somerset Council, Weston Hospital plus National and International Companies with Beachlands offering a wide range of services from day meetings, overnight accommodation for visiting colleagues, retirement parties, working lunches, fund raisers and private dinners.
